Cornel West and Carl Dix, Co-founders of the Stop Mass Incarceration Network say:

From Cornel West & Carl Dix:

As the co-issuers of the Call for the October Month of Resistance to Mass Incarceration, Police Terror, Repression and the Criminalization of a Generation, we wanted to share a few words with everyone standing up to say NO MORE to mass incarceration and police murder and everyone inspired by the defiance and determination shown in the streets.

The response to the murder of Michael Brown, together with resistance to mass incarceration and police terror up thru October, has put the reality of police murder out front in U.S. society. And the world has seen there are 1,000's who are determined to STOP these horrors.

We need to continue to build resistance. We must take to the streets in response to whatever decisions are announced by the grand juries hearing testimony in the police murders of Michael Brown and Eric Garner. And we must strategize over going forward to STOP Mass Incarceration and Police Terror.

And the November 15 Dialogue Between Cornel West and Bob Avakian at Riverside Church in New York City will provide a chance to think deeply on what kind of people we should be and what kind of world we want to live in. Its theme, “Revolution and Religion: The Fight for Emancipation and the Role of Religion,” goes at questions that are timely and of great importance for hundreds of millions of people around the world. If you are concerned about getting free, you don't want to miss this event.

At this Dialogue, people will meet 2 speakers who share a deep love for the people and a passion for ending the suffering of those who catch hell every day and for emancipating all of humanity. The audience will also experience interaction between the speakers, getting into things they agree on and exploring areas of disagreement in a principled way with mutual respect.

If you want to STOP police murder and mass incarceration and the other horrors this system enforces on people, if you're interested in getting free, we urge you to be a part of this historic event. If you're in NYC, or if you can arrange to be in NYC on November 15, be at Riverside Church. Go to the Dialogue page at revcom.us to get tickets, to find out about transportation being organized from different parts of the country and other information.
