A Statement from Carl Dix

Court Exonerates Cop Involved in Murder of Freddie Gray!

May 23, 2016 | Revolution Newspaper | revcom.us

How long will this shit keep going down! Another killer cop has been let go by this system. This time it was Edward Nero, one of the 6 pigs involved in the arrest and murder of Freddie Gray in Baltimore in April of 2015. Like millions of Black men and women before him in Amerikkka, Freddie Gray was murdered for nothing but the crime of being Black.  Freddie Gray was just fine when cops decided he looked suspicious—then from his arrest through his "rough ride" shackled in the police van he ended up murdered.  This verdict was the system saying, again, that cops arrest people (especially Black and Latino people) for nothing, brutalize them and even kill them, and still get away without punishment.

This, the system exonerating brutal, murdering cops, is unjust and illegitimate. Everyone who hates hearing that another murdering pig has walked free needs to stand up and say NO MORE in the face of this outrage. And everybody must dig into why this happens again and again, and what it'll take to end this shit once and for all. Doing this is possible—through revolution, nothing less. The Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP) has issued an important message: “Time To Get Organized for an Actual Revolution.” This statement says: the Party “is organizing now to overthrow this system at the soonest possible time.” And it lays out what people can do now to prepare to make revolution when the time is right. If you want to see a world where murder by police no longer happens, you need to take up this message, spread it among others; and join the RCP in preparing the ground, preparing the people and preparing the vanguard for the time when millions can be led in the all-out struggle for power.  Right now, as you fight for justice and seek a way out, stay plugged into the revolution at revcom.us.
