Letter from a donor to the BA Everywhere campaign

I work in one of the largest independent bookstores in the Pacific Northwest, and I work in particular with the books on politics. Radical stuff is virtually flying off the shelf, and as I've begun engaging on a personal level with the ideas of Bob Avakian, I've played a more active role in getting info about him out there. We have a display of BAsics, and I wear BA Everywhere buttons each day at work, something that's guaranteed to generate rousing discussion.

Another thing we've done is use the media produced by the campaign—especially the CD interview of Avakian by Cornel West—to raise the consciousness of people who work in our store. The debate is often fierce, but it's become very obvious to me that the best way to raise money for the revolution is to engage with people on the basis of ideas, and to work hard with them in moving forward in pursuit of the better world that we all want and strive for.
