Sixty people of different nationalities gathered in Jim Gilliam Park in South Central Los Angeles for a Rally, March, and Picnic to celebrate Revolutionary Internationalist May Day. The day pulsed with revolutionary determination. Fueled by the courage and resistance of college students standing up to vicious repression in solidarity with people of Gaza, there was a profound sense that we are in the midst of a defining moment for a generation. The Revcom speakers went deep with people on preparing now for a real revolution.  People listened and watched Bob Avakian on a large screen TV, from the The BA Interviews on The RNL Show, speaking to the youth who catch the hardest hell. After marching through the neighborhood, the REVCOM CORPS for the Emancipation of Humanity led the crowd in a call and response of the Points of Attention for the Revolution while holding aloft banners signed by the masses of people in South Central LA in support of the people of Gaza.  The Celebration ended with moving calls to Stop the Execution of the Revolutionary Rapper Toomaj Salehi and the playing of his song Battlefield.

After a short, defiant and colorful march through Harlem from Revolution Books, about 60 people—including those attracted by the march, others brand new to the revolution as well as those who have been building for May Day—gathered to celebrate Revolutionary Internationalist May Day in Marcus Garvey Park. People listened intently to the speeches, and there was lively back and forth during the organizing meeting.

The Revcom Corps led a revolutionary internationalist rally at Millennium Park in downtown Chicago. Besides speeches from the Revcom Corps and a solidarity statement from Cleveland about the banner saying “From Palestine to Cleveland, We Need Real Revolution! Hands Off the Brave Students! Hands Off Gaza!,” message number 30 from @BobAvakianOfficial and music from Iranian rebel rapper Toomaj was played over the sound system, and statements from actively retired priest Bob Bossie and a diaspora Iranian youth about Toomaj were read. A march then headed to the Art Institute—a major cultural institution on busy Michigan Ave.—to stand with the defiant protest of students who had set up a pro-Palestinian encampment there and bring the message: “We need and we demand revolution for a whole new way to live, a fundamentally different system!”

The Revcom Corps, Bay Area, rallied in pouring rain at 24th and Mission St. in the SF Mission District. Then there was a gathering at a nearby taqueria, with speeches from the Revcom Corps and a statement delivered from the International Emergency Campaign to Free Iran's Political Prisoners Now against the death sentence handed down on rebel rapper Toomaj Salehi.

Houston. This beautiful Revolutionary Internationalist May Day banner circulated from neighborhoods of the oppressed in Houston, to the University of Texas and a protest against the genocide in Gaza this weekend, to Eagle Pass and the U.S. Mexico border—bringing together people from different backgrounds, experiences, and walks of life, but who share a common humanity, and, whether they are aware of it or not, a common fight to make revolution and overthrow capitalism imperialism.

Eagle Pass, Texas. A crew of revcoms travelled to Eagle Pass on April 27, on the U.S.-Mexico border. Eagle Pass is ground zero of "Operation Lone Star", a deadly fascist assault on immigrants. Standing in front of the infamous "border wall", they burned American flags and delivered a statement for Revolutionary Internationalist May Day in Spanish and English.

Revolutionary Internationalist May Day

Forging a Collective Spirit, Fighting for a Whole New Way to Live and a Fundamentally Different System, and Bringing a New Dimension to the Struggle Against the Genocide

A Reflection from Annie Day

On May 4 and 5, across the country, the Revcom Corps for the Emancipation of Humanity stepped out for Revolutionary Internationalist May Day to declare:

We Need and We Demand:
Revolution For A Whole New Way To Live, A Fundamentally Different System
Stop the U.S./Israeli Genocide of Palestinians NOW!
Stop Capitalism-Imperialism from Stealing Our Future!

The May Day rallies this year were not that large in numbers, but very large in revolutionary spirit and confidence. In New York City, the joyous and defiant march went through Harlem picking up a couple dozen people on the way. In the Bay Area, comrades rallied in the Mission District in San Francisco. In Chicago and Texas, revcoms connected with marches and protests to demand an end to the genocidal slaughter of Palestinians—with members of the Revcom Corps for the Emancipation of Humanity in Chicago getting arrested for standing with students at the School of the Art Institute and forging ties in a night spent together in lockup. In Los Angeles, the march went through a South Central neighborhood, with a revolutionary rally in a park before and after. In both NY and LA, people ate meals together—with food donated by vendors, restaurants and supporters from all over the world.

There’s more to learn about the impact of these May Day marches, and the work across the country that went into building for them...  Read more

From the genocide in Gaza, to the growing threat of world war between nuclear powers, to escalating environmental devastation… the capitalist-imperialist system ruling over us is a horror for billions around the world and is tearing up the fabric of life on earth. Now the all-out battle within the U.S. ruling class, between fascist Republicans and war criminal Democrats, is coming to a head—likely during, or before, the coming elections—ripping society apart unlike anything since the Civil War.

Bob Avakian (BA), revolutionary leader and author of the new communism, has developed a strategy to prepare for and make revolution. He’s scientifically analyzed that this is a rare time when an actual revolution has become more possible, and has laid out the sweeping vision, solid foundation and concrete blueprint for “what comes next,” in the Constitution for the New Socialist Republic in North America

The website revcom.us follows and applies that leadership and is essential to all this. We post new materials from BA and curate his whole body of work. We apply the science he’s developed to analyze and expose every key event in society, every week. Revcom.us posts BA’s timely leadership for the revcoms (revolutionary communists), including his social media posts which break this down for people every week and sometimes more. We act as a guiding and connecting hub for the growing revcom movement nationwide: not just showing what’s being done, but going into what’s right and what’s wrong and rapidly learning—and recruiting new people into what has to be a rapidly growing force.

Put it this way: there will be no revolution unless this website not only “keeps going” but goes up to a whole different level!
