Forced Motherhood Is Female Enslavement

The fascist-packed Supreme Court is set to announce a ruling by Friday, April 21, on the status of the abortion pill, mifepristone. Mifepristone is an incredibly safe drug, safer than Tylenol, and is used in more than 50% of abortions in this country. 

  • On April 7, the Trump-appointed federal judge Matthew Kacsmaryk ordered the FDA to withdraw its approval of mifepristone, in a ruling that would be a leap in the theocratic justification of the enslavement and subordination of women and a major shredding of the rule of law.
  • That same day, a different federal judge ordered the FDA NOT to withdraw its approval of mifepristone, at least in the 17 states which filed the suit he was responding to.
  • On April 12, a federal appeals court ruled on Kacsmaryk's ruling. This ruling didn't outright ban the pill but severely restricted it, while maintaining the same underlying language and justification which—if passed—would be the basis of a federal abortion ban.

The Supreme Court will either grant a formal stay on all these rulings until they are able to deliberate further, or make a decision as to the status of mifepristone.

Whatever happens, people need to be poised to act! To go out among all sections of the people, call them into the streets. Bring people an understanding of what these outrages represent and why now's the time to get organized for an actual revolution. Challenge them—wherever they're coming from—to protest in the streets and not allow this to go down!
